If you've never seen a bald eagle soaring free in the wild, go cut your classes, jump into your car and go somewhere where they can be found. Okay, so you shouldn't play hooky, but as soon as you can, go seek out the bald eagle. Even a glimpse of this bird will renew your faith in all which is free and pure in this world.

I have the great fortune of currently working where bald eagles can be seen with enough frequency to keep my eyes continually turned upward. This can make driving a bit precarious, but when spotted, these magnificent birds make all the adverted accidents worthwhile.

With a wingspan of seven to eight feet, stark white plumage and powerful talons, the eagle is a breathraking sight. But their eyes truly capture me. They seer into my heart with their all-knowing, proud vision. They are a species of bird who have looked extinction right into the eye and have been forced, by man, to blink.
